Support Information
Silence condones violence. Domestic violence is one
of the most common causes of serious injury and death in women. The NSW Police
estimate they respond to over 120,000 domestic violence incidents annually.
You may know someone who is being abused at home.
Violence is NEVER acceptable. The Bankstown Domestic Violence Liaison Committee has helped produce a booklet on healthy relationships and what to do if you are in a violent relationship called
'How is your Relationship?'.
What can you do?
-
Be
aware that it happens
-
Listen
and believe women (and children) who talk about being scared at home
- Give support whichever way you can
-
Do
not ignore it
-
Talk
about it
